The Leafs extended recently acquired forward Nic Petan to a 2 year, 775k AAV contract extension Thursday afternoon.

The 24 year old British Columbia native recently was traded to the Leafs on trade deadline day from the Winnipeg Jets for former Leaf forward Par Lindholm.

Petan currently has 1 goal in 5 games with the Leafs on 4th line minutes. He has an impressive 53.6 CF% in average time on ice of around 8 minutes. This means his team has the puck more often with him on, below 50% is opposite.

Petan looks to make the team out of camp next season and become a useful and cheap tactical piece in the 2 years he’s here.
